Soup Supper at Sunset in Casa Anacaona

To mark the launch of our social enterprise and Bonfire Night, we hosted a sustainable food community gathering on the beach, within one of the 'Folkestone Triennial Artworks' - Casa Anacaona. 

 The following surplus ingredients were received:

  • Butternut squash and Braeburn apples from Gleaning Kent
  • Leeks, butternut squash. tomatoes. peppers, garlic and chives from the Folkestone Food Assembly
  • Leeks, apples, carrots, onions and parsley from Mr Richard Adlem
  • Butternut Squash, carrots, apples and onions from Nicola Carter
  • Leeks, onions and carrots from Sarah Howlett

And with those wonderful ingredients, we cooked a delicious "Butternut Apple Soup" for the local community = 64kg of surplus food diverted from landfill!
